NSW Rezoning Plan: 30,000 New Homes & $520M Investment

The NSW state government plans to rezone parts of Kellyville, Bella Vista, Hornsby, and Macquarie Park under its Transport Oriented Development Accelerated Precincts plan.

If approved, this plan will add up to 30,000 new homes around public transport hubs, with a portion designated for affordable housing.

Kellyville and Bella Vista will see about 20,700 new homes, with up to 1,650 of those being affordable housing.

Hornsby will get about 5,000 new homes, including up to 500 affordable houses.

Macquarie Park will have 4,600 new homes, with up to 690 set aside for affordable housing.

The government has allocated $520 million for community infrastructure across these areas, including road upgrades and transport links.

A public exhibition on these proposals is open until 9 August 2024.

“I encourage everyone to take a look at the proposals and provide their comments,” Planning Minister Paul Scully said.
